Good day all,
I hope you are all well and the day is treating you with Grace. I just wanted to let you know how the 2025 Miami Book Fest evolved.
1. I drove along the southern coast to Ormond Beach to spend a couple days to reflect on the year’s book events. Watching the dolphins work schools of fish, as the brown storks dove to take their fill, moving them along the inlets close to the beach was mesmerizing from my balcony. Viewing a cycle of life play out as an observer makes the appreciation for life within one swell.
I drove into Miami and first was just amazed by the traffic. Getting anywhere would take time. I stayed in an Airbnb in Little Havana where you could hear a mixture of peacocks and roosters in the mornings and cricketed night life in the eve. I had a three mile drive to Miami Dade where the festival was being held and it took me 30-45 mins each day to get there.
This was a three day festival as Friday is set up so all the areas K-12 schools field tripped in. Each school had bright t-shirts that were different colors and the kids had their favorites they gravitated to. It was a fun day and a free day as Saturday and Sunday they changed admission.
2. Saturday was a day of discovery for me as I was sharing a booth with another self –help writer. I had arrived early and rearranged my part of the booth to be more inviting only to find that my booth partner liked it and wanted the same. Needless to say we were both more comfortable and ended up helping one another with people and sales. Cooperation works with good communication. The weather was in the 80’s and we had a cool breeze so yeah …just lovely.
3. Sunday was a busy day and I even had to drink extra water from talking so much. There were more youth that were concerned about war, everything falling apart, and direction. Yes young adults that were there in college and not sure if they could make it. There were long talks and tears but breakthroughs happened. To witness that makes it all worth it.
4. So now here we are at the end of the season and already I’m looking forward to next year. I had four days to reflect on the progress that was made not only by me but all who I connected with and all who reads this. It doesn’t matter who, what, where or why, educate your being…read!
Thank you Texas Book Fest and all the others in this nation and world who promote reading.
May you days be filled with special meanings

Good day all,
I hope you are all well and the day is treating you with Grace. I just wanted to let you know how the 2025 Texas Book Fest progressed.
1. The drive down the first day was a bit frightening. I left at midnight to make New Mexico by early evening. The canyons through Utah in the Arches area were flooded with semi-trucks in the pre-dawn time of day and they decided that I was a suitable target to ping-pong me through that dark canyon with these trucks doing 80MPH or more. I knew that if I didn’t keeps my wits about me I would plunge off an embankment. I managed to get a break on a corner and got out of the canyon as quickly and safely as I could only to be pulled over (3:30 AM) and verbally abused by an officer as I watched all these trucks zoom by rocking my vehicle as they passed while Utah’s finest continued. I shook it off and began again as I wasn’t going to let my goal be dissuaded. I arrived safely in Austin.
Saturday was a lovely day and the tent they had us in was busy. It managed to get in the upper 80’s and even though it was hot in the tent people came out in droves. I had a great time chatting with all types of human beings.
2. Sunday was even hotter in temperature but these are people that are used to the heat and my chattiness continued, spreading positive insight to others on how to improve their lives by making better choices. It was a great time and the day ended with a dinner at a lovely Thai restaurant with my niece and her family I hadn’t seen in over ten years. Then the next day I drove to Huston to meet up with another niece and part of her family to reconnect. Laughter and family are just the bomb! Instead of home I headed to the east coast as the Miami book fest was right around the corner. Thank you to the Texas Book Fest for a great festival.
Take care

Good day all,
I hope you are all well and the day is treating you with Grace. I just wanted to let you know how the Southern Book Fest played out.
1. The drive was by way of Manhattan, NY where I picked up an award for the second book in the South Node Shaman Series and then dropped down to Nashville. It was the weekend for protests and since the festival was held in the state capital square it made for some interesting conversations on Saturday. The weather was off and on misty and in the upper 60’s so not too bad. The interesting thing was that most of the people that came though were in good spirits although weather and other gatherings made it a bit slow.
2. Sunday was a better day for the weather and hence brought out more people. A variety of ages and all were interested in finding new ways to improve their health. Not many of the individuals’ I talked with could afford health insurance and were very grateful for the knowledge I relayed. I too was grateful for the opportunity to be able to be there and share.
3. What I learned is that the area had more eclectic people from all ages, backgrounds and cultures. The Tennessee Humanities spongers this event to promote more reading for those who might not be able to always participate in all aspects of learning and I was honored to assist in participating in this festival. I met new friends and Thank SBF for the experience. I went down though the lower tier of the nation to get home to avoid weather so it was a three day drive but not bad for October.
Enjoy the day

Good day all,
I hope you are all well and the day is treating you with Grace. I just wanted to let you know how the Chicago 2025 Lit Fest went.
1. It was a two day drive to Chicago, and I went up into the northern part of the country through the mountains of Montana and South Dakota, and experienced some of our national monuments. It was a wonderful drive and dropping down into Chicago was nice. The weather was in the high 60s low 70s the day was good. I had a table instead of a booth. The table was set up over some vents that aired from below the street so the smell sometimes was not the greatest, but with the Chicago wind I managed to avoid most of it. Saturday went well and I talked to a lot of people, a lot of young people, which I so enjoy. People are looking toward getting their health in line and are searching which I just totally love because there’s so much information in my books and gave them a variety of options.
2. Sunday was another nice day. More of a different variety of people came around. There was one incident where an individual had a little mental episode, but it was handled quickly and compassionately and all were sent on their way. I also was involved in trying to get out while a protest was underway, and again nothing serious. Everything was handled well.
3. What I learned is that a lot of information that had been circulating through different news outlets were just not the case, the festival was handled with the utmost professionalism. The people were helpful and everything was well organized so I highly recommend the Chicago lit fest to up-and-coming authors. The two day drive home was also very nice. I got to spend time with family on the way home, which is always a blessing.
Thank You Chicago Printer's Row Lit Fest!
Take care and enjoy your day.

Good day all.
I hope the day is treating you well. I wanted to give you a quick rundown on how the LA Times Festival of books went for my business, what I learned and what I’d do different.
1. Preparation was good but the weather gave me challenges that were unrealized. It rained on and off all day Saturday. It was chilly and people would only see into my booth when they were right in front. So looking up to read a banner or see what was being peddled from under an umbrella wasn’t popular. Consequently people headed to areas they planned to go. Next time I’ll arrange my booth to be a refuge for people out of the weather or just stop and talk.
2. On Sunday I spoke with more people and was offered a chance to interact with a variety of individuals from many walks of life. Most were looking for information on beginning a new health journey and wanted to learn about what branch of Shamanism I practiced. They were kind in asking and I gave as much insight as I could to educate them not only on that practice but the many modalities that I teach.
3. I learned several things. One that the festival was run very well. It was organized and people checked in on you regularly to make sure things were running well. Two, that when it came to interacting with people who would stop and ask about the Shaman title it was easier than anticipated. I’ve not had the best of luck carrying this title for it brings huge prejudices but not in LA. No matter who I spoke with they were cordial and genuinely interested. As a matter of fact the eclecticism was refreshing. I loved the conversations with young people. Granted they’re emotions are still a bit scatted but they want to find their paths in life and that gave encouragement to me to keep forging my way forward to continue to help those who seek.
Thank you LA Times and the Festival of Books
